Haridwar is a holy place for Hindus, especially for millions of devotees of Lord Shiva. Every year in the months of April to June, at least twelve million devotees come on pilgrimage to this town to take a holy dip in the sacred Ganges river. It is also considered one of the four "dhams" or spiritual hubs in India. The other three are Yamunotri, Gangotri and Kedarnath.

By Air : The nearest airport is the Jolly Grant Airport Dehradun. It is around 22km from Haridwar and can be easily reached by cabs and buses.

By Train : Haridwar Railway station is located in the heart of the city. The railway station offers direct trains from all over India.

By Road : A number of buses and cabs are available to reach Haridwar from big cities such as Delhi, Dehradun, Chandigarh, etc.

There are many reasons to visit Haridwar but the most important reason is to see the holy river Ganges. The Ganges is the most sacred river in India and it's visit is a pilgrimage for millions of Hindus.
