The best places to eat in Gangtok are often those small roadside stalls that have been on the same block for decades. These kitchens serve Tibetan, Indian and Nepali dishes, with a special focus on momos (Tibetan dumplings).
If you’re looking for something slightly more upscale, you can’t go wrong with the restaurants near The Orion Mall or the restaurants near Gait Square. If you’re visiting during December, make sure to book ahead because every last table will be booked out.
Gangtok is the capital of the Indian state of Sikkim and is located in North-east India. This small city is often overlooked by tourists who are heading towards the Himalayan mountains in the northern part of India. But don’t let it’s small size fool you, there’s a lot to see and do here!
