Jallianwala Bagh

A visit to this place is a must for any tourist or Indian who has not yet been there. This post is about the extraordinary and India’s most significant site of the freedom struggle, Jallianwala Bagh.

This place was the location where on April 13, 1919, a peaceful demonstration by Indians against the slaughter of innocent British soldiers by their Indian counterparts took place. In response to the carnage, General Dyer ordered his men to open fire on the unarmed crowd.

As a result of this firing, hundreds died and thousands were injured. Besides, many others became insane or suffered mental trauma. General Dyer was widely condemned for his act as it was nothing but cold-blooded murder.

To honor the innocent men, women and children who were killed by Brigadier General Reginald Dyer on that day, the British created a garden in their memory – Jallianwala Bagh. Here, on April 13 every year, a solemn observance takes place.

The present-day site of Jallianwala Bagh is no longer the same as it was in 1919. It has transformed into a memorial site. This place is a beautiful and worth visiting place that tourists should visit it at least once in their lifetime. if you love traveling and want to know about more places visit us at Traveltricky.com
