Srinagar is a city in northern India, in the Jhelum Valley. It has an important religious place for Hindus and Muslims alike, making it an illustriously important destination for foodies. There are some amazing places to eat in Srinagar.

10 Famous Foods of Srinagar

Rogan Josh :  This is a Kashmiri delicacy made from meat cooked with vinegar, potatoes and spices. It is usually accompanied by boiled rice, which is called Dhal or Dhall.

Modur Pulav : a popular dessert from Kashmir. It is made from rice flour and semolina and then stuffed with a mixture of nuts (almonds, cashews and pistachios) flavoured with saffron, cardamom, or roses.

Shab Daig : This is a traditional dessert from Jammu and Kashmir made with flour, sugar, ghee which is then deep fried.

Kahwa : Kahwa is a drink made from roasted green tea leaves, almonds, pistachio and cardamom. It is believed to be beneficial for health.

Roghan Josh : Roghan josh is a Kashmiri dish made with lamb cooked in almonds, tomatoes, ginger and spices. It is often served with rotis or steamed rice.
