1) Sharadamba Temple (Also called Baghsasthali)

The Sharadamba Temple is one of the most important Hindu temples in Karnataka. The temple is located at a height of 2,350 meters and was built around 11th century. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Sharadamba, an incarnation of Goddess Parvathi. The temple has a beautiful architecture and gold ornaments used in the building are quite impressive. People offer milk, vermilion and flowers during the worship.

2) Sringeri Sharada Peetha

The Sringeri Sharada Peetham is a Hindu shrine located on the banks of the River Tunga, near Bhoothur. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Shree Sharada and is one of the most important holy shrines for Hindus in Karnataka. Located at a height of 563 meters, the shrine attracts thousands of devotees from all over the country.

3) Annapurneshwari Temple

The Annapurneshwari Temple is located on the outskirts of town and is dedicated to the Hindu God Annapurna. 14) Jhari Falls

15) Bhadra Dam

The Bhadra Dam is located on the Bhadra River, near the town of Bhadravathi. Around 630 hectares in size, it has been designed as a storage dam and is an important part of the Kaveri river project. It has also been declared as an eco-friendly dam and attracts thousands of tourists every year. It has 10 sluice gates which are controlled through a closed circuit system. The dam also has two hydro-electric power stations and with a capacity of 33.20 MW each, they produce a huge amount of electricity each year.

16) Hirekolale Lake

Hirekolale Lake is located on the outskirts of Chikmagalur and is used for storing water from the Kanakapura River. The lake has been built by the Tunga Bhadra Authority and offers a beautiful view of the surrounding hill stations. It was built by the Hoysala King Ballala II and was occupied by Tipu Sultan in 1785 A.D.
