The museum is spread over an area of 14,000 square feet and was inaugurated in 2005. It is a modern two-storey complex built to resemble the old textile mills that were once a symbol of prosperity in Ahmedabad. It has displays on the history of India’s textile industry and showcases the evolution of India’s cotton textile industry through 1,300 years. The textiles on display include hand woven Indian textiles, European fabrics and Indian machine woven fabrics.
