Zanskar Valley, Leh Ladakh

Zanskar Valley is located in the North-Western Himalayas region of Jammu and Kashmir, on the southern edge of the Tibetan Plateau. It is inhabited by some of the oldest people on earth, with many aged over 100 years old. The people of Zanskar are very proud of their history and rich culture. They talk proudly about the legends and traditions of their land. They have been influenced by their long-lasting beliefs, various religions, and rich cultural heritage. The people of Zanskar have maintained their ancient customs, living traditions and lifestyle from thousands of years ago. People in Zanskar really love the agelessness when it comes to each other. For example, they help each other as much as they can. They are carefree to drive their animals on the roads even though it is forbidden.
The people of Zanskar have a bond with each other and nature that has been passed down for generations. The common factors between them and nature are the water and soil – without which there would be no home, no life, and no livelihoods in Zanskar.
